A key component of ‘What Makes Us Special’ is that the owner and manager, Chloe is on site most of the time, this means that the settings ethos remains central in practice as well as making it easy for parents to discuss any concerns they may have. Chloe leads from the top and regularly takes part in spending time with the children and also provides a clear vision for staff to follow. Chloe’s dedicated and passionate attitude infiltrates easily into the setting and therefore into the children; they know they are loved and cared for and a huge part of why the staff choose to work in childcare.
We offer unlimited one hour settling in sessions to guarantee a smooth transition into Nursery and give you as a parent peace of mind.
Both nurseries have an ‘Open Door’ policy and parents are encouraged to visit the setting at their leisure, this is the same with staff, making Little Stars Educational Services an excellent company to work for. Regular supervisions mean staff are always striving to improve their practice and therefore their ability to care for your child.
Partnership with parents is extremely important to us here at Little Stars Educational Services and throughout both nurseries; this is because it enables us to constantly reflect and develop our practice as well as giving us an insight into what is really important to you as a parent. We achieve this level of partnership through daily handovers to discuss your child’s day as well as termly parents’ evenings to discuss your child’s progress and develop their Next Steps with you to allow us to work together in achieving your child’s development milestones. We also have termly parties and parent workshops to allow children the chance to show their favourite things about Nursery to their parents. This also allows parents the chance to observe the way in which children are taught at Nursery and the positive relationships they have with both staff and friends.
As a special keepsake of your child’s journey with us, we create an ongoing ‘Learning Journal’ which not only tracks your child’s development, but also captures the special moments they have experienced with us. We encourage parents to contribute to this as much as possible and your child’s Learning Journal is available for you to access at all times.
Both settings are currently taking part in BEEL (baby effective early learning) and EEL (effective early learning which focuses on older children), these awards allow us to further reflect on our practice through observing both staff and children and evaluating the learning styles which are most beneficial to the children’s development and enjoyment.
Little Stars Educational Services is also currently taking part in Startwell, a Government backed scheme to provide healthy living in both children and adults; through this our children learn about ‘good’ and ‘sometimes’ choices in terms of food and why we need to exercise to stay fit and healthy.
Overall we are ‘special’ because we of our desire to constantly evolve and extend our already positive and effective practice! We are always up for learning new things and taking on new challenges and love to watch our children grow and develop into confident, independent young people.
